• Activation: A mixture (in a sachet) of minerals, dried seaweed and salt is placed inside the shell.
• Activator: An activating solution (salt water) is added, which triggers a safe thermal reaction.
• Duration: Within a few minutes, the shell begins to radiate heat. Best of all, they maintain a constant temperature for over an hour, allowing for a smooth, continuous massage to reheat them.

To guarantee maximum relaxation without risk of burns, the shells are kept within an ideal therapeutic range:

• Working temperature: They typically range between 45°C and 55°C (similar to the recommended temperature for hot stone massages, which can reach up to 65°C, but in a more controlled and gradual manner).
• Thermal sensation: As it is a moist heat emanating from natural materials (calcium), the sensation on the skin is that of a warm and deep embrace, never aggressive.

This system allows the therapist at Serbona to maintain contact with the client, preserving the rhythm and connection throughout the entire session.

As with any heat therapy, this treatment is not recommended in cases of fever, acute inflammation, epilepsy, cancer, open wounds, or infectious skin diseases.
